M3 Agency Celebrates 20 Years with 20 Acts of Kindness in the Community

Our mission was to give back to our community. What we experienced was so much more.

20 DAYS • 20 WAYS • 20 ACTS TO GIVE BACK

ACT 1 - WALK FOR A CURE

For our first Act of Kindness, we sported our new pinked-out M3 tees while walking in the Miracle Mile Walk for breast cancer! Breast cancer awareness is a cause that is near and dear to us at M3, and we are so glad to be able to contribute to the continued efforts in the fight against this horrible disease.

ACT 2 - FEED THE HUNGRY

For our second Act of Kindness, we teamed up with Milton Ruben to fight hunger and participate in this year’s It’s Spooky To Be Hungry food drive! Spooky started in 1992 out of a neighborhood in Rochester, Minnesota, and then found its way down to the CSRA where it’s been collecting donations since. We are grateful for clients that find helping the needy just as important as we do at M3!

Act 3 - Putting our heart into Halloween

For our third Act of Kindness, we suited up as Paw Patrol characters and handed out candy to the sweetest special needs children with the BEST costumes! Halloween with a Heart is a wonderful event that provides a safe environment for special needs children to trick or treat. From Wizard of Oz and Scooby Doo to Minions, and everything in between – we’ve really enjoyed being a part of this event for the past 10 years.

Act 4 - Giving Blood

For our fourth Act of Kindness, we donated blood to the Shepeard Blood Center! You yourself can save 3 lives when you donate a single pint of blood – an act that collectively saves 4.5 million Americans a year. Donating can also lower your risk for heart disease and heart attack! We think that’s a win-win.

Act 5 - Helping moms-to-be at Hope House

For our fifth Act of Kindness, we purchased items for a baby shower for 10 expecting mothers at Hope House! We had so much fun looking at all the beautiful patterns and cool new items that help Mothers care for their bundles of joy well after their birth. Thank you to the Augusta Women’s Club for hosting the shower and allowing us the opportunity to give back to the women of Hope House – an organization that has served over 1,500 women with mental health and substance challenges.

Act 6 - Sending students notes of inspiration

For our sixth Act of Kindness, we gathered together to write notes of encouragement for local children that will be distributed by United Way. We kept asking ourselves “what would I want someone to have said to me when I was younger…” and we let that be our cornerstone for our words. You truly never know the impact a phrase might have on someone – whether positive or negative. We are grateful to be spreading a little more light today.

Act 7 - Treating kids to a fun, safe Halloween

For our seventh Act of Kindness, we helped host Milton Ruben Toyota’s annual Trunk or Treat for our 5th year! This event is always so much fun, and we love seeing which team can outdo the others with our car decorating – this year we had the cast of “Up”, a carnival of scary games, and a hungry monster. Loads of pizza, cotton candy, and slurpees were consumed, and endless fun was had!

Act 8 - Sharing meals with firemen

For our eighth Act of Kindness, our hearts and iHeartMedia Augusta’s Kristin Cato and Ivy Elam collaborated with us to serve breakfast to our Columbia County firemen. We enjoyed being able to give back to those that give so much every single day – it’s the least we can do for these heroes!

Act 9 - Collecting Toys for Tots

For our ninth Act of Kindness, we rallied the troops and took to the toy aisles to make sure some little girls and boys would have a very merry Christmas this year. Not only did we fill both of our boxes up to the brim with all kinds of gadgets and gizmos, but we also had an overwhelming amount of donations that resulted in us being able to buy a whole other box of toys for our Toys For Tots toy drive! We left smiling from ear to ear with so much joy in our hearts and can only imagine the excitement these children will feel knowing that something special awaits them on the most magical day of the year!

Act 10 - Sharing warm coffee and smiles

For our tenth Act of Kindness, we drove around the downtown Augusta area delivering coffee, donuts, and happy smiles for some of the city’s homeless. We met some of the kindest and most high-spirited humans that were so thankful for a fresh and hot breakfast. We even made some new friends! We finished this act feeling especially happy hearted and thankful to have made even the smallest of differences for the people of our community!

Act 11 - Collecting coats for those in need

For our eleventh Act of Kindness, we teamed up with our clients Kid to Kid and Uptown Cheapskate for a winter coat drive. Being as passionate as we are about people, we wanted to make sure no one was left in the cold this winter!

Act 12 - Helping to serve hot meals

For our twelfth Act of Kindness, we served up some lunch with Master’s Table Soup Kitchen to the people of downtown Augusta! Master’s Table serves more than 325 people in need every single day, without fail, in the downtown area, and we were so blessed to spend time with some of them. We can’t wait to go back and serve again!

Act 13 - Having story time with students

For our thirteenth Act of Kindness, we shared our fruit snacks and dramatic reading voices with a class of first graders at Warren Road Elementary for story time! Twenty-three precious students enjoyed their treats and a lesson on the importance of knowing that what’s on the inside counts THE MOST – something we think everyone should learn, no matter how tall or small you are.

Act 14 - Making a difference in our parks

For our fourteenth Act of Kindness, we visited Mistletoe State Park and gave their announcement boards and park sign a fresh look! Mistletoe is a state park where you can fish, camp, and explore the great outdoors – 71,100-acres to be exact – and we wanted to make sure visitors had that information readily available to them. Thanks to the help of Phillip at AlphaGraphics, we were able to donate both our time AND our materials to the good people of Mistletoe!

Act 15 - Spending time with our furry friends

For our fifteenth Act of Kindness, we spent some time with the good people and furry friends at the CSRA Humane Society! The CSRA Humane Society was founded in 1985 and became an official no-kill shelter in 1999. We are so appreciative for them and the work they are doing, especially since we are a dog-friendly office that loves bringing our pups in for a visit any chance we can! Thank you to the CSRA Humane Society for having us and taking care of these special animals until they find their forever homes.

Act 16 - Sharing coffee and conversation

For our sixteenth Act of Kindness, we surprised cancer patients getting their chemo treatments with some donuts and coffee at Augusta Oncology! Augusta Oncology is a locally, physician-owned practice that offers the most advanced cancer treatments to patients in the CSRA while providing them with a caring and warm environment. Fighting this disease is difficult, exhausting and requires a great amount of courage, and we wanted to do something to brighten their day and satisfy their sweet tooth! Thank you for letting us visit with you and your patients, Augusta Oncology!

Act 17 - Making a difference

For our seventeenth Act of Kindness, we repaid a visit to the Master’s Kitchen in downtown Augusta! We loved meeting and serving so many people in our community the first time, that we came back again for round two. Thank you Master’s Kitchen for having us again – thank you for the endless hope you give others through the meals you serve.

Act 18 - Keeping Augusta Beautiful

For our eighteenth Act of Kindness, we committed to keeping Warren Road Community Park clean through the Keep Augusta Beautiful “Adopt A Spot” campaign! We had fun getting out of the office and into the great outdoors as a team to work together and tackle the trash left behind in this beautiful green space. For the next year, we’ll be doing our part to “keep Augusta beautiful” by volunteering our time and ridding the park of any trash that’s on the grounds.

Act 19 - Helping families feel at home

For our nineteenth Act of Kindness, our team collected and delivered donations for the Augusta Ronald McDonald House! The Ronald McDonald House is a children-centered nonprofit that houses the families of hospital patients – never turning them away, no matter their circumstance. We’re proud to know that the items we donated will feed, warm, and help families that stay at the Ronald McDonald House during this difficult season in their lives. Act 20 - Promoting reading in our community

For our twentieth Act of Kindness, we built and installed a Little Lending Library in the Montclair neighborhood park! Although for readers of all ages, we are extra passionate about spreading the love of the printed word and making reading fun again. The Little Lending Library is a “take a book, leave a book” system that encourages sharing with your community and expanding your literary horizons – plus it’s stinkin’ cute! 20 years
